Molecular insight into somaclonal variation phenomena from transcriptome profiling of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) lines

Abstract Somaclonal variation during in vitro culture is often an undesirable phenomenon but may also be a source of genetic useful for breeders. The molecular mechanisms underlying this remain uncertain. In study, we analyzed the fruit transcriptome three independent cucumber lines using RNA-sequencing technology and performed extensive silico study to determine how somaclonal altered gene expression. Comparison profiles with wild-type ‘Borszczagowski B10’ revealed 418, 364, 273 genes that were differentially regulated. We bioinformatic functional analysis, ontology classification, network explored expressed associated processes such as protein nucleic acid binding, enzyme activity, signaling, transport, sugar lipid metabolism. determined differential expression caused by polymorphism genic region result interaction among networks, which triggers specific pathways.
